Post photo The Grub Burger Bar specializes in burgers, but also offers other products, including the Jive Turkey Burger.  The restaurant is quick and informal.  Customers order at a counter and waiters bring the food to the table.

When we can find a good, old-fashioned hamburger, we can get hungry at times.

With so many burger restaurants in Coastal Bend, deciding which restaurant will satisfy your hunger can be tough.

This need not be.

Whether for the size of the burger, the taste or simply the atmosphere of the restaurant, the Caller Times newsroom staff selected some of their favorite burger spots in the area.

Yes, some of us have more than one favorite!

The brothers Joe and Robert Gaitan opened the Corpus Christi burger joint 20 years ago and created fresh homemade burgers for the community. They offer other tasty options as well.

If you’ve been on the beach all day enjoying the sun, this burger eatery is a convenient way to enjoy a variety of burger options in a relaxed atmosphere.

“I really like the Padre Island Burger Company because you can get a portobello mushroom cap as a patty. It’s also a great place to hang out after a day at the beach.” – Eleanor Dearman, reporter

“The Hangover Burger is the best burger in Corpus Christi. There are several burgers with eggs, but this one is the best. They also have sweet potato fries and a really good ranch dressing! This brewhouse not only serves beer, but also serves a variety of foods, such as unique and delicious burgers.

The family-run restaurant serves hamburgers to order, chicken, fish and shrimp dishes, and Tex-Mex.

Vicks famous hamburgers are celebrating a grand opening ceremony for their new location at 626 N. Port Avenue on July 12, 2018.

Snapka’s Drive Inn

This South Texas institution has been serving hamburgers since 1948. So you know it’s good.

There are more than 20 locations in the coastal bend

Corpus Christi has 23 Whataburger locations within the city limits.  Blake Miller won a Snapchat contest of free Whataburger for a decade in 2016.  During a visit to the Ingleside site on April 6, 2016, he held up his favorite food, the Chop House burger.

Pete’s Chicken-N-More

Sure, this fast food place is known for its chicken, but they also have delicious burgers.
