The Greater Boston Food Bank recently announced that it has hired David Giagrando of Weymouth as Senior Director of Development, Diversified Portfolios and Institutional Employment.
The seasoned development professional will oversee institutional donations, donor relationships and special events.
“David brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in community development and revenue generation, and we are grateful to have him on our team,” said Arlene Fortunato, senior vice president of development for the Greater Boston Food Bank. “This has been a year like no other in which the food aid needs in eastern Massachusetts remain at historic levels. Our fundraising drives are more important than ever today. “
Prior to joining GBFB, he was Vice President, Corporate Partnerships at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He has also worked in senior development positions for various other nonprofits and in higher education.

Giagrando holds a bachelor’s degree in general studies and the humanities from Brandeis University. He is a board member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Massachusetts Chapter. Giangrando is from South Shore: he grew up in Hull, attended Thayer Academy in Braintree and currently lives in Weymouth.
