The downtown Corpus Christi art walk is personal again today

COPRUS CHRISTI, Texas – The art walk officially takes place in person on the first Friday of each month here in downtown Corpus Christi.

“Before the pandemic, we worked with our providers in the Artesian and La Retama Park. During the pandemic, we had a virtual art walk, ”says Alyssa B. Mason, Executive Director of the Downtown Management District.

One of the shop assistants, Amanda Howell, owner of Phat Knits and Clay Co., says working from home hasn’t been bad for her business.

“There was this continuous flow of inspiration, energy and drawing,” she says.

It had its limits, however. Howell says she’s excited to be back in the community.

“Above all, I’m looking for a little vitamin C, a little connection with people. To look someone in the eyes and talk to them, ”Howell says.

Mason says it was decided to hold the art walk in person.

“We realized that this was the time to bring Art Walk popups back, and you’ll see some additional changes here this summer.”

The art is hosted differently throughout the city center according to the pop-up model. Events and specials are also offered for people to enjoy.

“Again it will be all over downtown with our main vendors at BUS,” says Howell.

The organizers say there will be dozens of vendors at this event.

The event takes place from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
