If you’re looking for a good hangout spot this Halloween season, you don’t have to go far to see something out of the ordinary.

Enjoy Corpus Christi Tours, LLC runs ghost tours throughout October to give locals and visitors a chance to visit more than 13 haunted locations in downtown Corpus Christi.

Rene Trevino, owner of the touring service, said that every Friday after sunset, guests take a two-hour ghost tour, visiting haunted theaters, homes, shops and more.

Every location is a mystery to visitors – except for one.

“We’re stopping at the old Nueces County courthouse,” he said. “We don’t go in, but we go through the parameters and explain the rich history and the ghostly stories.”

Trevino said that ghost hunters who want to explore a haunted location will have the opportunity to walk through the halls of a building built in 1929 at the end of each tour.

“This is a great tour in October,” he said. “We have it all year round, but people really get into the spirit of the season around this time.”

Trevino said he and his wife Susan launched Enjoy Corpus Christi Tours, LLC in 2017 in hopes of providing interactive tours for the community to enjoy.

Some of their other year-round tours include sightseeing, historical, and cultural.

“We felt that Corpus Christi really needed a tour,” he said. “My wife and I did a lot of research to provide an accurate history of the area … including our ghost tours.”

Susan said the couple’s goal is to dispel urban legends with real history about the places and the city.

“A lot of people tell us that they never knew this or that happened in our city after taking our tours,” she said. “It’s just interesting to see how past events correlate with people’s spiritual beliefs … and that’s what fascinates people.”

So what about ghosts?

Rene said the guests saw things several times during the ghost tour that they couldn’t explain.

“Visitors experienced strange energies … some good and bad … even taking pictures of spheres and faces,” he said. “Corpus Christi is a very haunted place and people who want to learn more about the city will find out on our tours.”

Susan said people interested in going on the Ghost Tour should act quickly as tour dates are slowly selling out.

“We have a lot of options for people interested in a tour,” she said. “We always publish availability on our Facebook page … and even offer groups of six or more the opportunity to tour on an evening that is best for them.”
