The Commissioner responsible for the Ministry of Health, Dr. Monica Bharel urges people to be patient as state officials try to understand why the Massachusetts vaccine research website crashed Thursday morning and came up with a solution.
“I know this frustration exists and I don’t know the exact computer problem why it crashed, but we’re working to fix it,” Bharel said in an interview with NBC10 Boston and NECN. “I have asked individuals to continue checking and this should be resolved shortly.”
Residents reported problems with the website as early as Thursday morning. The state’s vaccine research network when approximately one million people were first eligible to receive the vaccine. According to Bharel, the heavy traffic on the Web site should have contributed to the crash.
“An additional million people have increased the volume of the website web and it has decreased at times,” said Bharel. “We are working on the problem resolution and it has to do with the number of people who are eligible now and we hope that all of these website web problems will be resolved very soon. “
