CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – A local youth mentoring group at risk plans to hand out more than 3,000 pounds of game meat this weekend. The Fish for Life Corpus Christi group has worked with churches, schools, businesses and other civic groups to identify some needy families in the area.
Each family receives a £ 20 package of professionally processed meat. The processing fee alone is approximately $ 11,000. The fee was donated by four ranches.
Fish for Life board member Will Deaton said it was a chance to help people in need.
“I called four ranches and told them what we wanted to do and these are professionally finished white tails, axes, nilgai and moose,” said Deaton.
Deaton said the organization is always looking for game and monetary donations.
