CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Without a doubt, the economy has been hard hit by the coronavirus pandemic, which has affected thousands of Texans.

Local churches, school districts, and food banks have set up pop-up distribution points across Corpus Christi city and surrounding areas to help the community during this time of need.

The Corpus Christi Independent School District’s roadside summer program will continue every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at the district’s 10 middle schools and 6 comprehensive high schools for the next six weeks.

“Starting Thursday, August 13, all CCISD students will receive free breakfast and lunch. Curb service will be available from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm,” said CCISD officials.

Many families have relied on CCISD to distribute food over the past few months.

Church Unlimited (Westside location) states that grocery hours have changed. Your hours are now Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Coastal Bend Food Bank has pop-up sites for fresh produce distribution. So check their website or Facebook page for future dates and times.

Casa de Dios at 3402 Ayers St, Corpus Christi, TX is hosting a milk and produce distribution tomorrow from 3pm to 5pm. Casa de Dios CC offers different distributions. Please inform yourself about future dates on the website.
