Corpus Christi woman's crocheted Bernie Sanders doll goes viral and is selling for more than $ 15,000 on eBay to help support Meals on Wheels

Corpus Christi’s Tobey King has just broken the shape of the popular internet meme by crocheting an adorable acrylic and cotton yarn doll of the Vermont Senator in his now famous coat and quirky brown gloves Рa look that takes the leap from inauguration Day Ensemble has created a Photoshopping sensation.

She sells this 9-inch doll on eBay, with the proceeds going to Meals on Wheels. The auction ends shortly before 2 p.m. on Tuesday, and bids have already exceeded $ 15,000.

“We’re all looking for something to enjoy right now,” said King.

Sanders’ campaign store sold sweatshirts and t-shirts to help Vermont’s Meals on Wheels and other Vermont charities based on his viral photo. As for the king’s doll, she simply adapted an old pattern she used to make Sander’s dolls for the 2016 and 2020 presidential election season.

King is selling the pattern for her new Sanders doll for $ 5 in her Etsy shop, TobeyTimeCrochet.
