Astros AA team Corpus Christi Hooks wears Whataburger jerseys this season

CHRISTI CORPUS, Texas – The Corpus Christi Hooks, the Houston Astros AA team, will be putting on the iconic Whataburger orange and white with a yummy twist this season.

Every Wednesday the hooks play as “Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits” when they trot on Whataburger Field, a nod to the fast food restaurant’s delicious breakfast sandwich.

“If the 2020 season is missed, fans will hunger for Hooks baseball, and we felt we could indulge that craving with a delicious new uniform every Wednesday,” said Brady Ballard, general manager of Hooks.

Last year, the Hooks’ Celebrate Whataburger Collection premiered to mark the restaurant’s 70th anniversary.

Whataburger was founded in 1950 in Corpus Christi.
