A settlement in Boston - Food Tank

A Reckoning in Boston is a documentary that follows two students enrolled on the Clemente course in the humanities, Kafi Dixon and Carl Chandler. The white suburb filmmaker James Rutenbeck wanted to document the students’ journey through the course, but was forced by his conversations with Kafi and Carl to grapple with a flawed film premise and his own complicity in racist structures. This panel will be attended by producer Kafi Dixon (The Common Good Project), director James Rutenbeck and Ben Burkett, a fourth generation Black farmer who has played a major role in the agricultural cooperation efforts in the south.
