Robert Rocha, chief of the Corpus Christi fire department, said firefighters “encountered severe fire and smoke conditions”. The supply line that feeds the fire was switched off late in the morning.

Rocha said one of the six people rushed to the hospital was in serious condition. The detachment transported four of the injured while the Coast Guard transported the remaining two.
